Pregnancy is one of the oldest “practices” in human history, but who says that the story cannot be learned and told in new ways with current technologies? Currently, our society is totally and completely integrated with the internet, social networks, mobile devices, and all that the mediums entail. With the way that information is shared online through such mediums, why not talk about pregnancy in a new way? This is exactly what Dr. Michael Genord of Royal Oak Beaumont was thinking when he decided to create The Interactive You: Virtual Pregnancy, an educational program sponsored by Beaumont Health Systems that features a virtual family going through pregnancy in real time, through online and social platforms that we all use everyday.
Dr. Michael Genord of Esprit Women’s Health in Royal Oak, in partnership with Beaumont Hospital Systems, Video Vision 360 and My Metro You Magazine joined forces to provide funding, public relations, marketing, and distribution of this project to southeastern Michigan couples interested in pregnancy. He also gained supports from other contributing experts including Megan Gunnell (a psychotherapist and Co-Director of the Center for Creative Living, Inc), Kimberlee R. Coleman, M.D. (a board certified pediatrician with Pediatric Specialists of Bloomfield Hills), and David Suebert (the Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine of Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak).
The Virtual Pregnancy Project stirred up quite a buzz throughout 2011. Monthly publications in My Metro You Magazine and a 10 month Webisode Video Series shot by us at Video Vision 360 served as the marketing foundation. However, momentum quickly followed with features on Channel 4, Ramona Prator Talk Radio 1200AM, WWJ Newsradio 950, and various departments and outlets of Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak.

About Dr. Michael Genord
Michael A. Genord, M.D. is a board-certified ob/gyn and a well respected member of the medical community. He is affiliated with Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Dr. Genord has more than 15 years experience in private practice, along with an experienced staff who has worked with him for several years. “Our patients are the focus of all we do and our commitment is providing the highest quality of care and service to each patient treated.”
As a solo practitioner, Dr. Genord enjoys the opportunity to really know each patient and be directly involved with all aspects of their care. When Dr. Genord is away from the practice, his patients are managed by one of his trusted, board-certified colleagues at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
